Fischer-Tropsch synthesis in a catalytic microreactor using CFD approach has been studied. As the Fischer-Tropsch products distribution significantly depends on temperature, performing such reactions in microreactors would results in appropriate temperature control and improve mass transfer. In this study, two configurations were compared for temperature control and product distribution including a straight and zigzag geometry. Due to symmetry, simulations were done for 2-dimentional systems at steady state condition. The set of PDE equations for mass, energy and momentum balances were solved simultaneously using a finite element based simulator. From the results, zigzag geometry shows higher rate of heat and mass transfer. The zigzag geometry provided lower temperature peak, lower C5+ yield, high outlet temperature, and more CO conversion
