The paper presents a novel method to design a DC-Excited linear synchronous motor (DCE-LSM). The methods appeared in literature mostly have used electromagnetic equations and numerical methods which are time-consuming and suffer from complexity. In the proposed method, the steady-state equations based on electrical circuit of the LSM have been used. For validation, the results of the proposed method have been compared with the results of the Finite Element Method (FEM).
