This paper proposed a simple and robust Finite-control-set model-predictive control (FCS-MPC) technique for doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) in wind turbine systems (WTSs). In the suggested FCS-MPC, the reference-voltage-vector (RVV) is simply obtained based on the machine model and demanded reference currents. Furthermore, the disturbance caused by parameters variations or by any un-modeled dynamics is estimated by a simple observer and added to the RVV calculations. Finally, based on the location of this RVV, the quality function is evaluated for two times to get the optimal switching state to be applied in the next sampling interval. The proposed FCS-MPC scheme is experimentally validated and its performance has been compared with that of the classical FCS-MPC.
