Axial crushing of thin-walled circular aluminum tubes is a classical problem that has been studied by lots of researchers in recent years. In this study, the energy absorption of thin-walled aluminum tubes subjected to quasi-static loading was investigated experimentally. Three types of different eccentric tubes were tested experimentally, and corresponding values of absorbed energy were obtained. The specific energy absorption parameter (SAE) is calculated and compared for each set of eccentric tube samples. A comparison of the results showed that, the energy absorbed by each combination of tubes is nearly independent of the distance between the tubes.
