A new CO2 removal system from methane was developed that has an acceptable performance. The influence of different operational conditions on CO2 removal from a simulated natural gas mixture was investigated and interpreted by Minitab 17 software. A good CO2 removal capacity of 71% was achieved in one separation stage which shows acceptability of CO2 capture by this novel absorbent. The main operational parameters such as gas to liquid flow rate ratio (Fg/Fa), sweep gas flow rate (Fs) and temperature difference of liquid in absorption and desorption module were optimized aiming to achieve the best separation performance.
