Formation damage is one of the obstacles that cause additional pressure drop and consequently reduce production rate in oil wells. Well stimulation methods are the most effective way to reduce damage. Approximately 80% of Iranian oil reservoirs are carbonate;and additionally, the efficiency of matrix acidizing in carbonate reservoirs is more than the other methods. Therefore acidizing can be utilized to improve productivity of production wells. In matrix acidizing it is important to control injection pressure to avoid fracture creation .This paper presents the results of simulation of matrix acidizing operation with Stimpro software for a carbonated well .finally the variation of skin and well productivity while acidizing will be discussed.
