In this paper, we obtained long chain brnched polyethylene using linear low density polyethylene powder (without any antioxidant and other additives) and multiple melt processing. Several compounds were prepared using LLDPE powder and different amounts of antioxidants (Irganox1010 and Irgafos168). These compounds were subjected to extrusion processes. The frequency-sweep rheometry method was applied to investigate structural changes in polyethylene compounds. The rheometry results indicate that increasing viscosity in both samples have proceeded from crosslinking or chain branching path. The results of the gel content test suggested that, under the extrusion conditions of this research, the crosslinking did not occur, and increasing viscosity has proceeded from the chain branching path. Compounds containing more long chain branches had higher zero-shear viscosity.
