The purpose of this study is to use natural zeolite adsorbent to remove residual of coagulant polymer such as poly aluminum choloride from wastewater of oil and gas drilling units after the coagulation process. In this research, removal efficiency of poly aluminum choloride (PAC) was assessed by removal of aluminum (Al3+). Also, the effects of variables such as adsorbent size (0.850-2.36 mm), pH (4-9), contact time (1-7 hr), adsorbent dose (1-10 gr/ 100mL of wastewater) and initial concentrations of Al3+ (0.05-0.35 mg/L) were investigated on aluminum removal efficiency and adsorption capacity at ambient temperature. The optimum removal efficiency of aluminum was obtained at pH 6-7, contact time of 7 hr, absorbent dose of 7.5 gr, initial concentration of 0.15 mg/L and zeolite’s size 0.850 mm.
