In this study, ZnO polyurethane nanocomposite were fabricated by uniformly dispersing ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) in commercial two component polyurethane and embedded in the polyurethane matrix using simple, easy and cost effective method. The presence ZnO NPs in the composite was determined by FT-IR analysis. It confirmed the successful filling of PU by ZnO nanoparticles. The antimicrobial activity of obtained polyurethane nanocomposite was screened against Gram negative Escherichia coli bacteria. This test was carried out via the disk diffusion method and the result indicated that PU composites doped with ZnO NPs showed the great antibacterial activity before 12 h for E. coli.
