In this study, CFD computations are used to predict the resistance, trim, sinkage, wave pattern and bulbous bow performance of Kriso Container Ship (KCS) hull appended with rudder in shallow water. For this purpose, resistance tests at different depths and velocities are simulated in the computational fluid dynamics environment. The effect of water depth reduction on frictional and pressure resistance components and ship trimming and sinking has been evaluated. Changes in the wave pattern created around the ship have also been well studied. Numerical results are compared with experimental data and semi empirical relationships, which show a high agreement between the results.
