A predictive dynamic model of a small pressure swing adsorption (PSA) air separation process was developed
for the purposes of evaluation, optimization, and control of oxygen generation systems on board military aircraft. This
system, that is used in military aircraft, results in a more complex cycle than the classic Skarstrom cycle, differing in the
optimization conclusions and presenting specificities that cannot be ignored in the modeling and simulation. By using
Oxysiv 5 as the adsorbent, an innovative optimization procedure and parametric analysis is presented for: influence of
the dimensionless purge orifice discharge coefficients, dimensionless time and high pressure values.
