An inverted emulsion process was adopted to synthesize conducting copolymer of aniline and acrylonitrile (PAn/
PANr) using potassium persulfate (K2S2O8), potassium dichromate (K2Cr2O7) and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as a novel
oxidizing agent in different solutions. The chemical structure of copolymer was studied using FT-IR spectrometer. The
morphology of PAn/PANr copolymer was characterized by scanning electron micrograph. The results indicate that the
morphology, conductivity, homogeneity, particle size and intensity of peaks are dependent on the type of solution.
