Polyaniline/Poly(vinyl acetate) (PAn/PVAc) blend was prepared in aqueous/non-aqueous media by using potassium
permanganate and benzoyl peroxide as an oxidant in the presence of various surfactants such as sodium
dodecylbenzenesulfonate, poly(vinyl alcohol) and hydroxypropylcellulose. The PAn/PVAc blend was characterized in
terms of conductivity, morphology, particle size and chemical structure. The results indicate that the morphology,
particle size and conductivity of product are dependent on the type of surfactant. The chemical structure of the product
was studied by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.
