Carbon dots are zero-dimensional carbon nanoparticles with a very small size and have attracted a lot of attention due to their properties. They have advantages such as simple and inexpensive synthesis, good solubility in water, high sensitivity and selectivity, low toxicity, high chemical stability, wide selection of precursors, fluorescence properties, etc. Due to their properties, they have wide applications. Carbon dots can be produced in different ways and from different precursors. In the study, carbon dots were produced from Brassicaceae plant by hydrothermal and pyrolysis methods and the colors of the synthesized solid carbon dots were investigated.
