Let S be a ring with identity in which 2 is invertible. In this paper, we first describe the ideals and some radicalsof quaternion rings R = H(S) which is a generalization of theHamilton’s division ring of real quaternions H = H(R). Then, weprovide some conditions on the ring S that the quaternion ringH(S) is isomorphic to a 2 × 2 matrix ring. Finally, we presentsome common and noncommon properties of S and H(S).
