Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity and $M$ be an $R$-module. In this paper we extend the concept of $z$-ideals (resp. $z^circ$-ideals) of $R$ to $z$-submodules (resp. $z^circ$-submodules) of $M$ and obtaine some related results.
