Protein ingredients in aquafeed are one of the most important factors responsible for the development and sustainability of aquaculture. Aquatic animals’ nutritional requirements have been accorded particular focus with less costly feedstuff in aqua feed given extra weightage. There has been increasing attention in recent years on finding methods to recycle the animal and plant by-products for feed preparation. This study intended to formulate tilapia feed by local ingredients in Oman and compare with commercial feed and another treatments that has been enriched by spirulina powder. This project carried out by four treatments; sardine fish meal (T1), Spirulina plus herbal local ingredients(T2), herbal local ingredients (T3) and commercial food (control). local food consist of Chluris virgate,Neem, Alfa alfa and dried sardine. All treatments were tested as dietary replacements for fish meal in practical diets for tilapia fingerlings. The results showed Spirulina plus herbal local ingredients(T2) was the best group for growth indices.
