Optimized maintenance strategy is the top priority of maintenance managers. To optimally use available resources and equipment, it is important to choose a reliable solution to repair expensive equipment. This article describes a failure in one of the industries and then explains how the damaged gearbox has been fixed. In this regard, the capabilities of the cold metal spray additive method are introduced here, and the reasons for choosing it as an optimal solution to repair the understudy gearbox shell are discussed. This method can be used as an efficient method instead of using welding or bushing to repair damaged equipment.
