Selective Laser Melting (SLM) is a progressive Additive Manufacturing (AM) methodology widely utilized in the medical field. The present research aims to comprehensively comprehend the mechanical characteristics of 3D-printed biomedical alloys across various orientations. Through a comparative analysis of a 316L sample produced using SLM and a conventionally manufactured counterpart, it is evident that imperfections, including their type, size, and distribution, play a substantial role in governing the anisotropic behavior of fabricated components. These findings emphasize the necessity of investigating the correlation between mechanical properties and microstructural attributes, ultimately augmenting the overall quality of 3D-printed biomedical alloys.
