This paper aims to study the effect of precursors ratio on barrier properties of hybrid coatings. To this end, tetra ethyl ortho silicate (TEOS) and 3-methacryloxy propyl trimethoxysilane (MEMO) were used as inorganic network together with uv cured acrylate resins. Barrier properties i.e. water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) and oxygen transmission rate (OTR) were measured. It was observed that in identical TEOS ratio to MEMO, by increasing the ratio of inorganic to organic phase, permeability to oxygen and water vapor decreased. The increase in the ratio of TEOS to MEMO had great effect on water vapor permeation and oxygen to coating ,so that the water vapor permeation increases from 12 to 0.96 (gr/m2/day) and oxygen permeation from 566 to 159 (cm3/m2/day).
