    The dual-task composite was synthesized from an ionic liquid (IL) that was used as a catalyst for the oligomerization and hydrogenation of polyalphaolefins (PAOs), as an alternative to the toxic and corrosive catalysts of AlCl3. The catalyst showed high activity under optimized conditions (temperature=130 °C, hydrogen pressure= 7 bar and catalyst loading =5 wt%).
