A COMPARISON BETWEEN MESHLESS METHODS OF DOMAIN TYPE AND BOUNDARY TYPE

In this study, two kinds of meshfree methods: a boundary type and a domain type are presented for one dimensional time dependent problems and their performance is compared. The domain type is based on approximating the solution in terms of a set of radial basis functions (RBFs) and, in the boundary type, the solution is expressed as a linear combination of the time dependent fundamental solution which exactly satisfies the PDE in the domain. Since the solution process in the latter method is mostly analytical, a more accurate solution is expected
