A non-isocyanate polyurethane oligomer (NIPU) with free hydroxyl and quaternary ammonium groups was used as an initiator for ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone to produce polymers at two different molecular weights. The resulting NIPU-graft -poly(ε-caprolactone)s were transformed into nonwoven nanofibers mats and subjected to different chemical and biological assays. The recorded results showed the potential applicability of these materials as antibacterial wound dressings.
