thermoplastic polyurethane containing polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) was synthesized. Nanocomposite films were prepared using POSS as macromer chain extender connected into PU chains by covalent bonds. FTIR, DCS, XRD and DMTA analyses were used to characterize the synthesized POSS-PU. Results showed that there is a threshold for POSS aggregation at which POSS forms a crystal region. This POSS crystal domains showed to improve mechanical and biocompatibility of PU coatings.
