The purpose of this work was to study corrosion inhibitive effect of zinc phosphate in Acrylic Montmorillonite Nanocomposite system as a novel steel corrosion inhibitor pigment to formulate anticorrosive paint films. This research is based on studying corrosion inhibitive effect of zinc phosphate in Acrylic Montmorillonite Nanocomposite system. Specific amounts of zinc phosphate (15%) was incorporated into the Acrylic Montmorillonite Nanocomposite coating (1 wt. % clay). The coatings were applied on low carbon steel plates. The morphological properties of the coatings was determined using field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). Corrosion resistance of scratched coatings were evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and polarization measurement. The experimental results indicated that zinc phosphate exhibited inhibition effect on the corrosion of the Scratched Acrylic Montmorillonite Nanocomposite-Coated Steel. --
