Epoxy resin (Araldite GY 783) were cured with two type hardeners (Polyether polyamine, Cycloaliphatic Polyamine) in four different mixing ratio, to achieve various mechanical properties. Viscoelastic properties such as elastic module and creep- recovery of samples were measured by DMTA instrument. Samples were exposed to humidity chamber for 2000 hours and adhesion was measured at wet and dry states over time. Adhesion loss and recovery of adhesion after drying were evaluated by pull-off test. The results showed a good correlation between viscoelastic properties such as elastic module and creep-recovery behavior of coatings, and adhesion durability. It was found that glass transition temperature and elastic behavior of the coatings correlate recovery of adhesion after wet and dry cycles.
