Abstract In this article, the functional and componential
relationship of Iranian and Indian architecture is reviewed.
Also, the architectural relationship is considered in order to
determine how it made a prominent model of economic and
architectural relationship between the two countries since 1932
to 1965. Interconnections strengthen the architecture of these
countries via the presence of religious buildings and promote
exchange of art, which is expressed in the article. The Hindu
temple in Bandar Abbas reflects the artistic relation of the two
countries. It also shows the mythical period (Vishny, Shiv,
Brahma) during which the temple existed.
What will be achieved from the dome and interior and
exterior architecture of this building include these factors:
symmetry in Islamic buildings especially the Hindu Temple in
Bandarabbas, cultural relationships between Iran and Indian,
Lotus in Iranian buildings such as Perspolis and Indian
buildings such as wetlands, similarities of Hindu Dome (the
thousand-head snake, 72 mini towers indicating 72 Angkor
temples as well as Islamic religions of men and women),
relation of the dome with the gods of Vishnu, the crest of the
dome, paintings on the wall, various religions, beliefs and
traditions, the art of building religious structures, the internal
elements, vaults and porches, the relationship of architectural
elements in this building and their compatibility with the kind
of architecture in Bandarabbas (the structural elements used in
the building). It is then discussed how these factors affected
both cultures during several periods of economical and political
relationship. Analyzing every one of the mentioned factors in
details, we state that what effect the architectural relationships
and various beliefs of Iran and India had on their religious
buildings and on the process of building.
