CdSe Quantum dots (QDs) on silica aerogels prepared by hydrothermal and precipitation methods. X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed the formation of wurtzite structure of CdSe. SEM image showed the formation of ultrafine particles of CdSe-silica nanocomposites. Other results showed the higher intensity of emission in 520-530 nm regions in hydrothermal process.
