CHOAS AND DETECTION OF CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIA

In this paper, we first review methods to determine the fractal dimension. Then we proceed to study the heart fluctuations behavior and its relationship with chaos and fractals. In the end, considering the chaos theory and fractal dimensions, we evaluate the heart fluctuations of 21 healthy individuals and 63 patients suffering from arrhythmia. The obtained results indicate the reduction both in correlation dimension and Hurst index. Also, regarding the age, the presence of some arrhythmias is rejected. These results can be used in the detection of heart disease.
