Determination of principal stress using six-arm caliper tool in Azadegan oil field

The Azadegan reservoir seems to be the crucial place to understand the geomechanical properties. This reservoir is one of the most important and biggest reservoirs in the world. Maximum and minimum horizontal stresses orientations have been investigated in one deep wells located in the north part of the Azadegan oil field by borehole breakout analyses from six-arm caliper data. The analyzed caliper data have been obtained from the well in the depths between 2750 and 3380 m, which belong to the Bangestan group
