A CRITERIA FOR COMPARISON OF CLASSES OF THIRD ORDER RUNGE-KUTTA METHODS

The concepts of computational complexity and truncation error bound for the classes of third order Runge-Kutta methods are presented. We develop a criteria based on cost of computation and the bound of truncation error to compare and select the best method.
