In this work, SiO2 hollow (HNF) and non-hollow (nHNF) nanofiber in long and continuous form were successfully fabricated by combining of electrospinning, sol-gel and thermal decomposition methods and the optimum production condition was determined. The thermal process was occurred at two different temperatures (530º and 1030º C). The synthesized nanofibers were characterized by FTIR, XRD, BET and SEM analyses. Results showed that HNF has higher weight loss and BET surface area in compared to the nHNF. It was concluded that the temperature applied in thermal decomposition process had a direct influence on properties of synthesized nanofiber. The dye removal ability of synthesized nanofibers was comprised. Moreover, the effect of operational parameters on dye removal process including adsorption dosage, pH and dye concentration was studied. It was found that the adsorption capacities of HNF and nHNF were higher than conventional synthesized silica.
