In this study, free vibrations analysis of functionally graded (FG) rectangular plates
carrying a distributed patch mass is presented with a Generalized Differential Quadrature
Method (GDQM). Based on a simple power-law distribution, the equations are derived
regarding to the third order shear deformation theory. By extracting kinetic and
strain energies, The equations of motion are derived by using Hamiltonʹs principle. The
five constitutive equations of motion and boundary conditions are discretized by
GDQM method. Finally, validation of the present work is carried out by comparing the
numerical results reported in the published literatures. Furthermore, influences young
modulus ratio and length to thickness ratio were investigated.
