In this work, a disperse reactive dye containing cyanoric chloride was synthesized. C.I Disperse Brown 1 was reacted with cyanoric chloride at 0-5 oC and pH 5-6. The synthesized dye precipitated and ball milled. The synthesized dye was applied on nylon 6 fibers. The effect of dye concentration and pH on the percentage exhaustion were investigation. The results show that percentage exhaustion values decreased as dye concentration increased. Maximum percentage exhaustion was observed at pH 5.5, it can be attributed to hydroxy group on dye. Also, it was found that light fastness of dyed nylon fibers with disperse reactive dye was moderate, while the wash fastness was good.
