Bioethics and Sustainable Life Sciences. A Programmatic Reflection

This paper propose an integrated approach to bioethics , as a catalyst for sustainable life sciences in society, globally and locally, with a special concern for developing countries, it ponders the challenges of biotechnological intervention to humanity and discusses inter-disciplinary contributions to a systematic and scientific assessment of humanity. It argues that a revision of the relational concept of “culture and normativity” provides the key to the foundations of trust between science and society, with respect for cultural diversity, vulnerable populations and individuals under conditions of global market economy. This purpose can be sustained by cultivation of a good life.
