One- pot synthesize of benzo[a,j]xanthenederivativesusing ZnCl2as a highly efficient and reusable catalystunder solvent-free condition

This study was designed to synthesize 14-phenyl-14H-dibenzo[a,j]xanthene derivatives from condensation reaction of various aldehydes and2-naphtholin the presence of ZnCl2 as recyclable and green catalyst under solvent-free conditions. Use of easily available catalyst, shortreaction times, good to excellent yields, simplicity of the reaction and easy work-up procedure are advantages ofthe present method.
