introduction: Scientific surveys indicate adverse effects on athletic performance as well as individuals’ immune system(1), while the effects of hydration levels upon echocardiography variables have been studied insufficiently. The purpose of this study is to review dehydration status which affects some echocardiography variables such as, cardiac output (Q), End Systolic Volume (ESV), and End Diastole Volume (EDV) as important indices to highly improve Greco-Roman wrestles’ performance.
Methodology: in this study 14 Greco-Roman wrestlers with weight and old range that was overt were divided at random into two groups; empirical and control. Then each subject effort for alternative exercise of arm ergometer. Next each subject’s echocardiography variables were calculated by a cardiologist. All subjects lost 3/5 % of their weights in dry sauna and again arm ergometer protocol, and echocardiography indices calculation, were quite similarly developed. To control the effect of sauna heat on echocardiography indices, the control group was also subjected to sauna, but to prevent dehydration, they were given sufficient cold water. afterward the subjects were rehydrated by overt Mineral water and proportional to their lost water, for 20 hours. As a result, for the third stage, practical agreement of manual work measurement, and echocardiography indices calculation were developed based on similar conditions to the performed stages (diagram 1). Each group’s data were studied by using variance Test with Frequent measurements and trial Test LSD, as well as changes between groups by using independent Test t in range of p ≤ 0/05.
Findings: Research results indicated that a decline of 3/5 % in body weight by dehydration led to change echocardiography indices of subjects, while rehydration during that time could not provide complete recovery of indices in empirical group compared with control group. The major finding of the present research is, complete recovery failure of young Greco-Roman wrestlers’ echocardiography indices for about 20 hours after dehydration.
Discussion and conclusion: Researcher findings indicate that doing exercise and oversweat in warm and humid environment may produce adverse effects on various systems of body(2). In addition, researchers reported cardiovascular drift following activities in such inappropriate places that its consequence would be heart flexibility decline led to ejection fraction, End systolic/diastolic Volume transformation, consequently fatigue in central and peripheral parts of body(3). With regard to the research findings on complete recovery failure of cardiovascular system between dehydration and rehydration, it could be concluded that coaches and athletes need to gradually lose weight to keep optimal performance.
