Abstract- One of the main problems in large cities is lack of parking slots for drivers. Finding a proper parking slot for a vehicle
could be a challenging task. Although there are lots of smart parking systems around the world, most of them are expensive and energy-consuming and therefore are not suitable for a standard IoT application. In this paper, we present an intelligent parking system using ZigBee protocol to make a low-cost, low-energy WSN platform and the proper gateway to send data over TCP/IP protocol to the internet and driver’s mobile phone. This paper indicates the characteristics of an appropriate routing method for making efficient WSN platform and connecting it with a gateway to share the information of parking slots with drivers.
