To be successful both domestically and internationally, GM crops must establish an acceptable position in the sociopolitical framework. Agricultural biotechnology offers great potential benefits to farmers in developing countries, but so far only a small handful of genetically modified (GM) crop products have been planted in only a few developing countries. In Iran only on case has been reached to field trial (Gharayazi etal 2004). Concerning possible consequence of development and deployment of transgenic crope, this paper discuss importance of awareness and acceptance of GM crops in world and Iran.
