چكيده فارسي :
The present study was conducted to assess the effect of omega-3 fatty acids on serum C -
reactive protein, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine phosphokinase (CK) after one boute
resistance exercise. Thirty athlete males in a randomized one-blind design were divided into one
of three groups: 1-omega-3 (n=10); 2- resistance exercise plus omega-3 (n=10); and 3- resistance
exercise plus placebo (n=10). Subjects of 1&2 groups received 3 capsules per day (3000 Mgr) of
omega-3for a period of 7 day, while in 3groups subjects consumed placebo capsules. Moreover,
all subjects of 2&3 groups underwent in high intensity acute resistance exercise. Blood samples
were collected from the anticubital vein at one week prior to the exercise, immediately pre
exercise and 24 h post exercise, and Data was analyzed by one-way ANOVA, and significance
was set as 0.05 . The results indicated that 24 h post exercise, there was a significant deference
for CRP concentration between three groups (p=0.001). Serum CK concentration was
significantly higher 24 h post exercise in 3group versus 1&2 groups (P=0.001). Moreover, LDH
activity was significantly higher 24 h post exercise in 3 &2 groups versus 1group (P=<0.05). The
results of this study indicated that high intensity resistance exercise may induce increase of CRP
and cellular damage indices in athletes. However, omega-3 fatty acids supplementation may
ameliorate these markers after acute resistance exercise in athletes, and therefore can an effective
devise to preventing of cellular damage and inflammatory process in young athletes.
