Examination of Some Durum Wheat Lines in point of Yield and Quality Traits

In this research, performed during 2010-2011 growing season in Diyarbakir and Kiziltepe, it was examined some yield and quality traits in order to determine outstanding durum wheat lines. Twenty advanced lines including five check cultivars were used as genetic material. The experiment established as a randomized complete block design experiment with four replications and grain yield, thousand grain weight, hectoliter weight, protein content, semolina color and mSDS value were evaluated in the study. In the evaluation using the Biplot graph, grain yield and test weight were involved in the first group while semolina color and mSDS were involved in the second group. Protein content and thousand grain weight were separated one by one groups. The lines showing superior property than check varieties in point of observed characteristics selected to be evaluated for registration operation.
