Title Of Article :
Relationships between some morphological properties and path analysis in local bean (phaselous vulgaris l.) genotypes
Abstract :
This study was conducted to determine the relationships among some morphological properties and their direct and indirect effects of contributing characters to plant height in local bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) genotypes in 2011 in Giresun. 8 different bean collected from Giresun genotypes were used in the study. The study was carried out in the Randomized Complete Block design with three replications. Highly significant and positive correlations were found between plant height and pod length, first pod height and pod per plant. Highly significant and negative correlations were found between plant height and seed width. Path coefficient analysis results indicated that first pod height (0.523), pod length (0.401), pod width (0.258) and pod per plant (0.194) were the major plant heigth contributing characters due to their high direct and positive effects on plant heigth and these characters could be used in common bean breeding as selection criteria for high plant height.
