Abstract :
In this study; in the period of Ottoman modernization, the establishment of the Diyarbakir Darülmuallimin-i Sıbyan and the purpose of the opening portion of Darülmuallimin-i Rüşdiye added later, appointment of teachers, acceptance and for the education of students explained in detail in the light of archival documents. In addition, the school’s, by training modern primary school teachers in and around Diyarbakır; positive effects on increasing the level of education of the region were evaluated.
