MURATHAN MUNGAN’S POETIC IDEAS

Poets have expressed their ideas on poetry by using different types of literature all along.While some poets have written their private poetics, some have declared their poetics when necessary rather than writing their private poetics in their works. Murathan Mungan, who is a productive poet after 80s Turkish poem, explains his poetic ideas by using different types of literature such as poem, novel, essay rather than writing his private poetic. Accordingto his idea, becoming a poet is a process which requires patience. He describes poem writing as amatter of existence. A person who wants to be come a poet must study hard and give effort. It can not be poet without contemplation about himself and life. Moreover, poet candidate must know to benefit tradition without imitating other poets. He must learn to resist obsolescence. The aim of this study is to peruse Murathan Mungan‟s poetic ideas in his works.
