Abstract
The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the importance of the perception management while performing the task of the police. The viability of an organization, achieving the goals of social support to survive, and competing significantly depends on its impression. Social perception of the Turkish police, its mission is to deliver services to the communities that protect life and property of the people, forefront as its quality of service and accomplishments. Therefore, the image of the police that should have, perceived image in the community, and the factors affecting the perception of the image were needed to examine. The importance of perception is discussed in terms of both internal customer relationship and external relations in police management. Examining the factors affecting perception, these factors have been associated with perception management. Examining the factors of the public’s perceptions of the police, the recommendations have been established.
