ON THE WORK OF NUHBETU’L-EMSÂL OF SAÎD PAŞA
Abstract :
Mehmed Saîd Paşa(born in 1248/1832 – died in 1309-1891) whose hometown is Diyarbakır and who lived in 19th century is a outstanding statesman who wrote about math and history and especially about language, literature and theory. Translations that Saîd Paşa translated from Arabic are also remarkable who is featured with his works especially about poetry, prose and rhetoric. In this study translation of Mecmau’l-Emsâl of Ahmed bin Muhammed El-Meydânî called Nuhbetu’l-Emsâl translated by Saîd Paşa will be approached.
