Abstract
The aim of this research is to evaluate attitudes of teacher candidates on teaching profession. In the frame of this aim, A 5 point Likert type scale comprising 30 attitude sentences was developed to be used in the research. The sample of the research composes of the total 411 teacher candidates 211 of them from Dicle and 200 of them from Fırat University. In the analysis of the data, Independent-Sample t Test, One-Way-Anova and Scheffe Test were used. According to the findings obtained from the study, the attitudes of prospective teachers towards teaching profession showed a significant difference in terms of department variable while they did not differ significantly in terms of university and gender variable. Another important finding reached in the research was that teacher candidates’ attitudes concerning teaching profession realized in “agree” level.
