Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the opinions of pre-school education teachers about the values education in pre-school education programme. The sample of this study consists of 72 pre-school teachers who work in central disctict of Diyarbakır in 2011-2012 Education year. Qualitative research methods were used in this study. Semi-structured interview technique which is one of the qualitative data collection techniques; is used in this research. Content analysis is the method used for the assessment of information which was gained in the interviews. It was concluded that teachers are primarily in the opinion of that the children should be taught values such as sharing, respect and love. According to the pre-school teachers, it is found that the education values that are aimed in pre-school education programme are in the grip of teachers’ initative and it is not enough. Also, in pre-school education, the pre-school teachers have difficulty about the excessive number of the students, unconsciousness of the families, giving all the responsibilities only to the teachers.
