Evaluation of Popular Science Journals: Science and Technology and National Geographic Sampling
Abstract :
Popular science is interpretation of science intended for a general audience.these works are published by different media organs. Today, popular science publications are at the head of the main sourcesthe masses of people, interested in science, will apply. This kind of publishing, which aims to bring scientific developments to the masses of people, is called “popular science publishing”. One of the most important tools of popular science publishing is popular science journals. This study deals with examples of ‘Bilim ve Teknik’ and ‘National Geographic’ journals which are popular science publications. The last five years of the journals (2011-2016) were subject to content analysis by the popular science journals evaluation survey developed by the researchers. As a result of the study, it was found that both of the journals are in accordance with popular science in general level.
