Abstract :
Popular science in general sense is the transformation of academic scientific researches into comprehensible form for wide sections of society. These researches are presented to the society by means of various presses. Naturally, the most important element of “popular science” is the popular science publications. Today, the popular science publications stand in the first rank among the chief sources to refer for masses interested in science. Such a kind of publishing aiming the delivery of scientific cases to large public is called as “popular science publication”. One of the most important means of popular science publication is the magazines which are published for this purpose.Priority of this kind of publication is current scientific events.Problems related to nature and human beings have engaged the scientific and social realms more and more. Parallel to this, the position of geography, which gains popularity, is mentioned in the sample Bilim ve Teknik Journal. Periodical started its publication in October of 1967. When 500 periodicals that have been published from 1967 to 2009 are taken into account, it turns out that through these 42 years geography has gained more attention, especially in recent years.
